Living Room Interior Design With Fireplace

News

Planning to refresh your current living room space? At some point, you’ll need to consider one of the key features of any living room – your fireplace!

As the room of the home in which you’ll spend the most time together as a family, living rooms are designed to be spaces that feel warm and inviting. There’s no better way to quite literally achieve this aim than by installing a fireplace, especially a designer fireplace as you’ll find here at Caleo LTD as UK stockists of JC Bordelet and Focus Fireplaces.

In today’s post, we’ll share some of our customer projects to help show you what’s possible when it comes to all things fireplaces and interior design. Remember, we offer a customised solution so whether you like what you see in this post or have a totally different idea in mind, we can make it happen!

Living Room Fireplace Options

Traditional Living Room

Model: Eva 992 Central Fireplace

One of the most intriguing aspects of a designer fireplace is that it is fully adaptable not to mention customisable to practically any living space.

This also includes traditional living room setups or styles, which in the past have been confined to having a typical fireplace setup featuring a stove and hearth. Although it can be argued that such styles possess a quaint charm, they can limit the interior design potential of the room, not to mention fail to adequately heat the space efficiently.

However, with the likes of our central fireplaces, wall fireplaces or corner fireplaces, you can place the heat source wherever is most convenient. Plus, you can choose from a wide range of styles that either remain in keeping with tradition or give your living room a completely modern twist.

The above image is an excellent example of how a central fireplace in particular can be positioned wherever is convenient, even within open plan style living rooms.

Living Rooms With A Neutral Palette

Model: Eva 992 Coloured Fireplace

It’s easy to understand why neutral palettes are such a hit within interior design, especially in living rooms. Clean colours are not only soothing to the senses but allow for maximum flexibility when with regards to the potential tones used within your furnishings too. Plus when it comes to selling a property, neutral colour schemes make it easier for buyers to picture how they’d put their own stamp on the place.

If you’ve never worked with a custom fireplace stockist such as ourselves before, you may not be aware of the sheer amount of colours our models can feature. You could opt for a bright pop of colour or even an animal print design to add contrast against neutral colours. Alternatively, you could remain with the neutral theme with a more softly coloured fireplace, such as the white toned fireplace we installed above.

Psst: Skip to the end of this post to download our free customer brochure to see the full range of fireplace colours and finishes we can provide!

In the above example, we particularly admire how the client has used clever light enhancing tricks by installing a backlit ceiling and glossy floor tiles. Not only does it make the space feel larger than it is, but it also gives an extremely decadent feel to the property too. In addition, the clear base of our fireplace doesn’t obscure the view of the flames or indeed the rest of the luxury fittings, no matter where you sit in the room.

Living Rooms With A Modern Twist

Model: Calista 917 Fireplace

Whether your property is a new build or if its style is more on the modern side in general, naturally you’ll want a fireplace that suits the theme, rather than dating the space as could be the case if you opt for a traditional fireplace.

Practically any of our fireplace models will beautifully fit any modern space since their design is unique and custom made to your needs. As a designer fireplace also offers more installation placement options, this also lends itself to modern interior design styles too.

As an example, modern homes may have open place spaces or feature walls that require a tailored solution when it comes to the fireplace choice. It’s therefore imperative to consider the style of the building when selecting all of the fixtures and fittings. Though, in many ways the process is exciting because with a modern build you are quite literally reinventing what’s been done before.

It’s also worth noting that as well as homeowners, we also work directly with architects. So if you’re planning an ambitious project and want to know your full options when it comes to a fireplace installation, we’d be more than happy to suggest some ideas during your consultation to help maximise the outcome of the brief.

Themed Living Rooms

Model: Eva 992 (also available in giraffe and tiger!)

Who says living room interior design has to be predictable? In fact, the very ethos of interior design is that it injects personality and style into a room! What these principles look like will be different to each client and in many ways, this is the beauty of interior design as a whole, especially when it comes to the topic of themed living rooms.

The above example is a perfect demonstration of how it’s possible to tailor the fireplace model, colour or even print applied to suit whatever theme you have in place. The fireplace could even remind you of a favourite holiday, as may well be the case if you opt for our Eva 992 printed models which feature safari themed designs created by fashion designer Paco Rabanne.

From sleek black coloured fireplaces that will adapt to practically any theme, bright tones that zing and even metallic hues that look truly majestic – your wish is our command!

Living Room Wood Burning Stove Ideas

Model: Calista 917 Central Fireplace

Wood burning stoves are in themselves an interior design trend since they add the utmost level of warmth and comfort to the room. Even the piles of wood stored by the fire add a rustic charm that helps to connect us with nature, and as our client has done in the above image can also create a delightful focal point in the room too.

You’ll be pleased to know that our fireplaces are available in several different fuel options including wood. So whether your property is a quaint cottage or a sleek newly constructed home, we can create that homely feel to the room with a wood burning stove that will add more than a touch of style to the space too.

Placing A Fireplace Around Living Room Furniture: Our Top Tips!

As noted above, our fireplaces offer many different positioning options including ceiling suspended, corner and wall placements. So let us know what you have in mind for the room and any furniture or features you’d like us to factor in to help you select both the right model and placement for your needs.

Ideally, fireplaces should adequately warm seating areas since this will ensure the room is comfortable to sit in during colder months, plus you and your guests will benefit from uninterrupted views of the flames. So, while we can install your fireplace around existing furniture, it may also be an idea to install your fireplace first so that your furniture can be centred around it, especially for central or suspended designs.

In rooms that have larger pieces of furniture therefore lack the space for a central design, we can also install corner or wall fireplaces. As we put it with a previous client Calista 917 installation, this particular model can be placed in the corner of the room and still look epic!
